Information involved

  • Your IP address, along with an approximate, town-scale geolocation inferred from that address.
  • User agent details (browser family, browser version, kind of device) transmitted automatically on every request.
  • Which pages were opened and which outbound buttons were pressed, only where analytics is allowed.
  • Anything you type into a contact draft and then email to us: in practice your name, an email for replies, and whatever you wrote.

Purposes and legal grounds

  • Serving pages safely and recalling your cookie setting.
  • Analytics, as totals, to learn which entries readers use; needs consent.
  • Marketing and referral attribution, so a partner network can credit a reservation to a betjiet link; needs consent.
  • Answering mail you send.

Grounds relied on: consent (analytics and advertising), legitimate interest (a working, secure site) and pre-contract steps at your request (replies).

Recipients and transfers

Hosting and analytics vendors handle some data on our instructions. Referral or affiliate networks receive data when you press a tracked link with advertising cookies allowed. Hotel websites reached from here apply their own privacy rules. A vendor may handle data in another country, in which case standard contractual protections apply. The Band does not sell personal data for payment.

Retention

Security logs on the web server are discarded after a brief interval. Analytics totals are held no longer than 26 months. Emails stay only while a query is open and are then cleared. Your cookie decision remains on your device for as long as you leave it there.

Rights under GDPR and UK GDPR

For readers located in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR grants access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, plus withdrawal of consent with effect for the future. Each reader may additionally lodge a complaint with a national data protection regulator.

Rights under the CCPA/CPRA

Under California's CCPA as amended by the CPRA, a California consumer can learn which personal information the Band holds and why, have it deleted or corrected, and decline both its sale and any cross-context targeted-advertising use of it. Under-18s

The content is aimed at adults, not at anyone younger than 18, and the desk does not set out to gather minors' data. A parent or guardian who thinks a child has written to us can say so, and the message will be erased.
