A short definition
A cookie, or its cousin local storage, is a small note a website leaves in your browser. The desk keeps these to a minimum.

Switching settings
A first-visit bar offers Accept All, Reject All and Manage Preferences. Later, the Manage cookies button at the foot of each page reopens the panel, and clearing site data in your browser resets everything. Browsing with Global Privacy Control turned on locks advertising and affiliate storage off.
